Long Island Great Books Council
What is the Long Island Great Books Council?
The Long Island Great Books Council (LIGBC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1954 and dedicated to fostering discussion of great literature on Long Island. In addition to running training courses for book discussion leaders, LIGBC sponsors an annual one-day Spring Institute that draws people from all over Long Island for a full day of discussion.
LIGBC is guided by six Directors with links to local discussion groups all over Long Island:
